• I've been thoroughly enjoying the Pilates for Back Pain course, along with the other videos I've gained access to-it's truly been a fantastic deal! While the back pain course is designed as a 10-week program, the demands of a busy work schedule and a prolonged recovery from COVID have led me to progress through it at a slower, more manageable pace. During the months when I wasn't strong enough for full sessions, I relied on shorter videos to maintain my self-care routine. For the past several months, l've been doing about 15 minutes of Pilates every morning, and it's made a huge difference. My back pain has significantly improved, and I haven't experienced any sciatica nerve pain in over six months! Initially, I felt a bit guilty for not completing a full session at least once a week. However, I realized that the consistency of a daily short Pilates routine had a greater impact than doing full sessions once or twice a week. All that said, your back pain program has been incredibly effective, and I'm so grateful for the tools it's given me.

  • I would find myself stuck at half-mast staring at my feet. Having been a dancer earlier in life, I was confident I could simply follow the brief series of doctor recommended exercises and YouTube videos to heal myself. Turns out, I was actually making a bad situation worse. I needed the specialized help Marcy & Pilates offer. Marcy created personalized Pilates workouts tailored to my very specific body and needs. I have practiced Pilates under her highly skilled care for 17 years now...never doing the same workout twice and always craving our next session. She is a vital gift to myself. She has guided, protected and strengthened my whole body, mind, and spirit. She heals me. She challenges me. I always leave our sessions together feeling exhausted, invigorated, empowered and taller. Grateful to share I have had no back issues in nearly 2 decades now.

  • I sit many hours a day for my work and I was suffering from chronic shoulder blade pain and carpal tunnel pain. I was approaching the age of 30 and was not exercising regularly. When I started doing Pilates and working with Marcy I remember everything was hurting. I could not easily complete a full set of “hundreds” or keep up without getting winded. Slowly I became stronger and slimmer. Marcy helped me strengthen my shoulder muscles and wrists and the chronic pains were bothering me less and less until they were completely a thing of the past.

Marcy is a versatile trainer. Each class is a bit different, so she keeps the exercise varied and interesting, always introducing new variations and routines.

When I was getting ready to conceive and throughout my first and second pregnancies, Marcy tailored the workout to the different stages of my pregnancy and helped me prepare my body for delivery. I was lucky to have 2 very easy vaginal deliveries and I credit that to Pilates and Marcy.

Whereas 15 years ago I used to complain and avoid tough exercises, now that I’m in my late 40s, and probably in the best shape I’ve ever been, I enjoy when Marcy pushes me harder to maintain and increase my strength and balance.

Pilates with Marcy is the best investment in yourself - time, sweat and money well spent on your well being.

  • Prior to Pilates with Marcy, I did not have any sort of consistent workout regimen and felt like I'd never find a workout that I would enjoy. But for over 15 years now, I've been dedicated to my Pilates practice with Marcy, and it's a testament to her exceptional skills and warmth as an instructor. Beyond her expertise in Pilates, Marcy exudes a genuine kindness that makes every session enjoyable. Despite the intensity of the workout, her approach makes it feel more like an engaging experience than a rigorous exercise regimen. The inevitable soreness the days after Pilates are a constant reminder of the effectiveness of her sessions. The consistent progress I've experienced, feeling stronger week by week, is incredibly motivating. To anyone embarking on their Pilates journey, I wholeheartedly recommend sticking to your routine – the results will speak for themselves in no time.

  • I wanted to keep this short and sweet but there are so many things I want say about Marcy so bear with me!

I started going to group classes with Marcy years ago and I was shocked at how tough her classes were! They didn't match her sweet and friendly personality! Honestly at first I would avoid going to her classes because they were so hard! I mean her sideline series is no joke! I hated it!! But I'm also competitive and wanted to do the best I could so Marcy's class was where I knew I would push myself the most.

She's so encouraging and helps you do your best but also isn't pushy or judgemental at all and if you just need a break she will totally modify the exercises to suit you and where your body is at on any given day.

When I got pregnant with my first daughter I knew immediately that I wanted Marcy to be my private instructor. She's an expert with pre-natal and post-natal Pilates. Once I started privates with Marcy I stuck with them post pregnancy and through my next pregnancy with my second daughter! And I swear it is because of Marcy that my delivery with both my girls was so short!

Not only is Marcy an amazing Pilates instructor with superior knowledge and training, she is an amazing person. She is kind and thoughtful and smart and funny and has become a great friend. She is just a pleasure to be around but don't let her bright and shiny personality fool you because she's gonna kill you in class!

  • Before doing Pilates with Marcy, I had consistent back pains since my job requires a long time sitting throughout the day. The main reason that I first tried Pilates was to prevent any further rupture in my disc that causes lower back pain.

Doing Pilates with Marcy was like a walking in the journey in my development milestone as a woman. I first met Marcy when I just entered the second trimester in my pregnancy to prevent my lower back pain. I had consistent morning sickness through out my pregnancy, therefore, doing physical activity had helped me to increase appetite. By doing Pilates, I was able to focus on my body and breathe, and it prompted awareness of how my body changes as a pregnant woman. I have to say that focusing on my body, actually allowed/ helped the bonding with my baby when he was in my womb. Therefore, then I got to be kind to myself during the period when such an incredible changes are happening in woman’s body, and stayed healthy, and there was no lower back pain throughout my pregnancy!

Fast forward 11 years, now, as a working mom with the job that requires tremendous concentrations on others’ stories, doing Pilates with Marcy is the time that I only think of being presence with myself and focusing on breathing again. It strengthens my body, try to work on balance, and awareness of my core. As a pony back rider, Pilates helps me to stay on my pony as well!

I would say you found the one. I started as a beginner (0 knowledge about Pilates), and pregnant woman. And now years later, I am not a beginner anymore, but there is always some areas that I can still grow and strengthen. I believe it is important to find the right match where you are and Marcy makes every level of your (Pilates) game better and fun.

  • I met Marcy almost eight years ago. All I knew about this genre of exercise was that you look hot as you get older if you do Pilates. Marcy educated and made me feel muscles I never knew existed. Within a couple of months of working with Marcy, I was getting many compliments on looking lean and mean. I recruited my sister, my sister in law and my mom into Pilates after working with Marcy. My sister lost about 20 pounds with Marcy. My mom lost about 15. Marcy is filled with knowledge about the anatomy of the body and breaks it down so non anatomy lovers like me can understand. She is tough and makes you work hard. I have had multiple health melt downs and Marcy is always there to help me get back up. We adjust based on the newest health challenge and I get stronger physically, mentally and emotionally. Marcy cares for her clients and always checks in to see if I am doing ok when I have a health melt down. I drive from Marina del Rey to Studio City every week to see Marcy. I won’t go to anyone else because she’s brilliant and works me hard.

  • Before doing Pilates with Marcy, I was not able to have a conversation with my body. I was weaker in parts of my body and had pains I did not understand the root of.

Pilates gave me the ability and awareness to be able to understand my body and how it moves in space. Pilates with Marcy is fun yet challenging in a way that is personalized to my own body and its needs. I gain strength and mobility from doing pilates and especially after my spinal fusion, the amount of growth I have noticed has been tremendous. Marcy was able to start slow with me and slowly work my way up to a place where I feel more comfortable and safe moving in ways that seemed like impossible goals before.

To anyone considering starting Pilates with Marcy, I would say get ready for a great challenge. She will help you meet the goals you want to reach and be excited to have an instructor with as much knowledge and positivity as Marcy.
